Let me introduce you to Talathia McKenzie better known as Tae.

This beauty embodies joy, courage, and displays what love looks like. Two of the most inspiring qualities Tae possesses are strength and resilience. She was diagnosed with epilepsy earlier in life which included seizures and strokes. Despite that, her uncanny will to overcome and conquer each day while embarking on a personal journey to enrich and empower others speaks volumes of who she is.

Tae encourages anyone she is around to enjoy everything life has to offer and to embrace the ones you love. Ms. Tae is the CEO of a non profit called MFSE (Modeling To Fight Stroke & Epilepsy) @mfsefoundationinc

You can catch her working the runway along with other inspiring individuals. Tae’s modeling work spans across several platforms that includes the likes of New York Fashion Week. Tae is also the CEO of @taesbeauty Natural Hair Growth Products & @taestytreats Custom Wedding Cakes & Desserts Bakery.

Tae doesn’t let anyone or anything hold her back. She is a fighter. She has a beautiful smile, and a fiery beast on the inside of her that never gives up. She will not allow anyone around her to give up either.

Check out her view of beauty.

Q: WHAT IS BEAUTY TO YOU?

Beauty can be a lot of things, but it is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty to me is seeing no color, no shape, no boundaries, or disability. Beauty to me is giving back, helping others, and making sure that no matter what, others are always reminded of the better parts of life. That goodness still exists in humanity.

Q: WHAT ABOUT YOURSELF DO YOU NOT LIKE & WHAT ABOUT YOURSELF DO YOU LOVE?

I don’t like that people see me as less than. I don’t like that I am treated as if I am ignorant because of my disability. What I love is my drive, my will, my determination, my ability to never give up, never accepting no, and always pushing forward. Always wanting to help others and making sure no one is ever in need.

Q: WHAT ONE THING ARE YOU WORKING ON TO BECOME A BETTER YOU?

I am always working on growing my faith. Becoming a better loving and more caring person. I want to always show respect and respect other’s feelings.

Q: WHO DO YOU ADMIRE MOST IN THIS WORLD (dead or alive, famous or not)?

Michael Jordan @theofficialmichaeljordan Kobe Bryant @kobebryant and Lebron James @kingjames These men represent greatness. Although they are basketball players, they are not one dimensional. These men are entrepreneurs, businessmen. They own more than just 1 or 2 businesses and they link up and buy brands for literally nothing and grow them into millions of dollars. These men are also known for their work in the community and how they give back as well. They inspire me because I want to not only be known as the girl in the wheelchair but known as GREATNESS just as they are. I want to be known as the girl who always fought, the girl who drives was so contagious that when others got around her it made them want more in life as well. I want to own businesses like my hair care line and my cake company. Also, continue to give back as well through my nonprofit and more. I don’t want to be one-dimensional.

Q: WHAT DO YOU ADMIRE MOST ABOUT OTHER WOMEN (physical or not)?

I like how women will compliment one another. How they come together to give advice, to help one another, and let each other know they are not alone and empower them. I love seeing this.
