My Story
As a young girl I always admired beauty and wanted to model. I pursued my passion, and as a young adult found some success in this area.
I remember going to conventions and casting calls, and once being told I needed to lose 10lbs (I was sixteen years old and 117lbs at the time). There were times when agencies decided I wasn’t tall enough, or maybe there were too many women with my look. Despite all the paid jobs I booked, I did not know why but their empty opinions stuck with me.
I also remember going to casting calls, events, and booked jobs seeing women picking each other apart and not celebrating one another. This and witnessing other numerous women interactions led to the creation of Iconic Beautiful Voices (IBV).
The goal for IBV is to create a platform that celebrates and highlights the many faces, spaces, and multiple hats women wear everyday.
Above all, I strongly promote and advocate self-care and loving the place you are currently in. Once your own cup is filled you can empower others with your cup’s overflow.
SELF-CARE... EMPOWERMENT... in that ORDER
