Mervelin “Momma” Blackmon
Born in Jamaica her name is Mervelin Blackmon. Momma Blackmon is how she is known by so many. Over the years she has provided a safe place & warm meals for family and friends.
Momma Blackmon has been and still is a foundation & pillar of the family, holding everyone & everything together. For years my family has witnessed her countless selfless acts.
She is a confident woman who finds the best in everything around her and loving herself in the process. There isn’t enough praise that can be said to really capture how amazing Momma Blackmon is.

Life. It’s a gift from God. You enjoy it when up or down.

Nothing. I love myself !

I like to help people, do things for people. Take care of family. That’s what I enjoy. I take care of everybody.
Q: WHAT ONE THING ARE YOU WORKING ON TO BECOME A BETTER YOU?
I’m working on my health. I have to keep my strength.
Q: WHO DO YOU ADMIRE MOST IN THIS WORLD (DEAD OR ALIVE, FAMOUS OR NOT)?
A lot of people, but everything I do is a gift from God. I can’t do anything w/o Him. He gives me strength.
Q: WHAT DO YOU ADMIRE MOST ABOUT OTHER WOMEN?
Women are beautiful... Special. Things that women do like being kind to people, loving one another.
Q: VOICES COME IN MANY FORMS. WHAT DO YOU WANT THE WORLD TO HEAR AND SEE WHEN WITNESSING YOUR ICONIC BEAUTIFUL VOICE?
I want people to see and witness a kind, sweet spirit. For them to love the things that I do for my family & friends because I really enjoy that.
